How we cope with the COVID-19 lock-down.
It is during these times that many businesses have to think of ways to allow employees to work from home efficiently. It is also during this time that many realize they weren't ready for the sudden change, but had to face reality by going head-on to face the challenge.
Since our company has not fully implemented cloud based storage (which we are currently working on), we had a problem reaching into our server to gain access to our files. Hence we had to install Anydesk to mirror our computers in the office where everyone has to share the use of these few computers to get their files. Group chats/Zoom were also created/hosted for better communication between teams for work to run smoothly. With the use of technology (Zoom, Whatsapp, Email), working from home does not seem too difficult.
Management had to prepare the required tools (Thermometer scans, Social distancing demarcation plan, SOP's) for when operation can be resumed in the office.
There are many firsts for every individual, let alone companies. It was a good learning experience for us, and moving forward we will improve our ways of operations to make the most for the world's new normal.
