Overview

Columbia Asia Hospital, Cheras, is a modern hospital easily reached via the Silk Highway and provides coverage for the Balakong, Sungai Long and Kajang areas.

This 255-bed multi-displinary hospital was constructed in two phases:

  • Phase 1: This phase had 81 beds and consisted of 2-storeys of above-ground hospital space and a 3rd level as a mechanical floor to house all mechanical facilities and equipment. There was also a basement level for car parking space and to house various utilities.
  • Phase 2: Similar to Phase 1 but larger with 174 beds.

  • Built-Up Reinforced Concrete Retaining Wall for Sub-Basement and Basement of Phase 1 & 2
  • Sheet Piles as Temporary Shoring for Basement Construction 
  • Contiguous Bored Piles as Temporary Shoring and Permanent Basement Wall
