Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur is a 5-star luxury hotel located in city's golden triangle area. It was constructed in 1986 with a tiled-wall façade. Due to the deterioration of the tiled-wall, the delaminated cement mortar and tiles detached and fell off occasionally, endangering hotel guests and damaging the property around the building. Shangri-la Hotel decided to upgrade the entire façade with aluminium composite panels, with the upgrading works completed in 2010.
